I’m currently on a plane headed back home to So-Cal! Warped Tour was amazing. It was the last Warped Tour ever so I feel super happy that I made the choice to buy these tickets right when the line-up dropped.
I feel so lucky and so grateful for being able to see a lot of my favorite bands play LIVE for the last time. Sitting on this plane eating my Cheez-Its, I thought about things to blog about that would be helpful for all of you.
These are things I wish I brought with me and other things I learned this past weekend. Hopefully you find this helpful and will bring these things to your next music festival!
Things I wish I brought with me
Sharpie
I wish I brought my own Sharpie for artists to sign my fanny pack because the Sharpie that Meg from Meg and Dia was using barely had any pigment left and it was pretty used up π so her signature is slowly coming off my bag. I might try to trace it with a thinner Sharpie. Wish me luck!
My fanny pack is from amazon btw! It comes in silver, pink, purple, yellow and more!
Sleeping Socks
Okay I greatly underestimated how cold my hotel room would be. We adjusted the temperature but I was sharing the room with 3 other people and they preferred a colder room. Every time I had to get off the bed and into the bathroom the floor felt like ice π and my bare feet felt like ice even when they were in the blanket. I think I had a hard time sleeping because my feet were so cold.
Thigh high socks
I brought leggings to Warped Tour because I figured it might get cold, but when it did get cold I was too lazy and also felt un-hygenic to try and change my clothes in a filthy bathroom stall. Long socks are much easier to throw on and much less gross in comparison to a bathroom stall with questionable toilet paper wads on the floor. I usually bring long socks to Disneyland so I don’t have to do the bathroom struggle but for some reason I didn’t have the same train of thought when I packed for Warped π
Jacket
I didn’t bring a jacket because silly me thought that they would be selling jackets at the festival. That would have been nice, but nope. No jackets just long sleeve shirts which aren’t so bad but aren’t so warm either unfortunately. There were still bands playing passed 8-9pm and I thought I could handle it but i was wrong π so I was chilly for a bit until we left to go home. I did find a long sleeve that I loved on the last day though and I’m really happy I found it because it says “it’s okay not to be okay” and it really hits home for me. It means a lot to me and it’s my new favorite long sleeve shirt. It’s also my favorite thing that I bought out of my whole shopping haul.
Umbrella
I read online that certain music festivals don’t allow umbrellas, so I assumed Warped Tour was the same… But when I got to Warped Tour there were people with umbrellas and I was so jealous that they got to avoid the sun. My skin is very angry with me now that I’ve cooked it in the sun. Pimples and sunspots galore! So make sure to double check the website or email them if there isn’t a section in FAQ about umbrellas.
Things I learned
When to go to the restroom
Go to the restroom right before a popular band performs, not after… because the line is long asf if you go right after the performance. Everyone needs to do their business right after the band finishes for some reason and the line stretches out for a while and it sucks if you really gotta go.
Eat before you get there
On Day 1, we made the mistake of eating lunch at the venue and boy was that the biggest waste of money in our entire vacation. I think the problem was that I walked in expecting 626 Night Market quality food trucks but what I got was…. not. lol.
So unless you want to pay $16 for a mini Acai bowl or $16 for french fries and sad pulled pork, you should eat before you get there and after you leave. The hot dogs were decently priced at $8 but everything else was a ridiculous price. Also bring your own water bottle because those are $4 each and I ain’t paying for that π€£
Thank you for reading! π
I hope this helped! Please let me know if it did!
