Hello! Welcome back πŸ™‚

If you’re planning to visit Honolulu, the Ala Moana Center is a great place to try some yummy foods! It’s a great place to go shopping too! Here are my Top 8 Places To Eat at Ala Moana Center:

1. Foodland Hawaiian Poke Bowls

Local Friends from Hawaii recommended we try Foodland Farms for fresh, authentic and affordable Hawaiian poke. We tried it and it definitely lived up to the hype! It was so good we went back 3 more times. Foodland is a local Hawaiian supermarket located on the 1st Level of the Eva Wing. It’s within the parking structure in its own stand-alone area.

Foodland Address
1450 Ala Moana Blvd, Honolulu, HI 96814

Open Monday – Sunday: 6am – 9pm

If you have never tried Hawaiian Poke before, it is sashimi grade fish, and it is delicious! I am from California, and our poke is so different, and is nothing compared to authentic Hawaiian Poke. Fresh, Hawaiian Poke is on some other level of amazing that you just have to try! If the idea of raw fish scares you because you think it might taste “fishy” I really recommend getting a Shoyu Ahi Tuna poke bowl.

The first time we went to Foodland, we got the Shoyu Ahi (sweet soy sauce) flavor rice bowl. Just writing about it makes me crave it. (So good!) The balance of Shoyu sauce with the fresh taste of the Ahi tuna is just a phenomenal flavor that is one of those try-before-you-die foods. The sauce combined with the fresh fish make it not “fishy” smelling or “fishy” tasting. I think if you try it, you won’t be disappointed!

We also got the Limu Ahi, which had algae. My boyfriend, Aaron, liked this one a lot! If you like seaweed, the Furikake one is great too. They even have an Avocado one! Some of the other flavors they have are:

Shoyu Ahi, California Roll Ahi, Limu Ahi, Avocado Ahi, Furikake Ahi, Hawaiian Style Ahi, Oyster Sauce Ahi, Secret Spicy Ahi, Wasabi Ahi, and Spicy Ahi.

They also have Kimchee Tako and Shoyu Tako, (Tako is raw octopus)

Foodland Poke Bowls are so delicious and I will definitely be revisiting next time I’m in Hawaii!

2. Lilikoi Lychee drinks (Hawaiian Sun brand) at Foodland

If you’re planning to eat your Poke Bowls and want a yummy Hawaiian local drink, I recommend grabbing Foodland’s Lilikoi Lychee Hawaiian Sun. Lilikoi is passionfruit, and it goes great paired with Lychee! The taste is refreshing and compliments the taste of authentic Hawaiian Poke.

(Shirokiya Desserts):

These next few spots are located inside Shirokiya at Ala Moana Center. For those of you haven’t been here before, Shirokiya Japan Village Walk is a food hall where you can find many restaurant food stalls all in one place! There’s delicious dishes and kawaii desserts! The Shirokiya flower ceilings are also stunning! They make for great photos.

3. Charmy

Speaking of kawaii desserts, the ice-cream shop Charmy is located at the front entrance of Shirokiya and the ice-creams are sugary sweet adorable goodness. This dessert definitely wins the aesthetics contest. It’s a sweet treat and also makes for a sweet photo op, too!

4. Hello Kitty Waffle at Kulu Kulu

For more adorable dessert, I recommend the cute bake shop Kulu Kulu! They have Hello Kitty shaped waffles with different fillings like strawberry, cream cheese, red bean, green tea, custard, and chocolate. They also have plain if you like that too. There’s a bunch of different pastries that are also super cute! There’s roll cakes and bear cakes!

5. Marion Crepes

I was too full to eat here, but the crepes look amazing. I wanted to share in case you love crepes just as much as I do! Marion Crepes in Shirokiya has both savory crepes and dessert crepes, and dessert crepes are my favorite!

6. Island Vintage Shaved Ice

When in Hawaii, one must eat shaved ice. I don’t make the rules, that’s just how it is… Lol just kidding. But really, who doesn’t want shaved ice?! Especially when Island Vintage has a bunch of shaved ice food stands like the one at Ala Moana Center. We got Lilikoi and Strawberry with extra mochi and danggg was it good. The ice is light and fluffy and the fresh fruit blended sauce was so much better than getting syrup sauce. This was one of my favorite treats out of our whole Hawaii trip! Island Vintage is located on the 1st Floor, near ABC Stores.

(Snacks in Foodland):

7. Spam Musubi and Onigiri at Foodland

If you’re looking for a snack while shopping, or a quick snack To-Go, Foodland has both musubi and onigiri. They are individually wrapped and are a delicious pick-me-up.

8. Fresh Papaya at Foodland

Did I eat a lot of things from Foodland? Oh yes. Did I regret it? Never. The papaya I bought was amazing. It was a straight up, already-cut half of a papaya that I ate it with a spoon. It was amazing. It would probably feed like 3 people but I ate the whole thing with mochi on top too. I bought the mochi separately… also at Foodland.
